Parking. There are up to six or seven spots at the parking lot below the arch. Additional parking is available at the gazebo or higher up with connecting trail to the arch.
Trail Navigation. This is a simple walk up cut stone steps to reach the arch and then a short walk on sloped rock slab to the overlook.
HIKER NOTE - Sunrise. You can catch a nice sunrise here when there is little or no fog. If it’s foggy, head to higher ground at the overlooks further up the mountain.
CAUTION - Walking the Arch. Many have and will continue to walk across the top of the arch. Be careful with your footsteps to find the flat surfaces to avoid a slip and nasty fall.
CAUTION - Slick Slope. Take extra care when heading out on the rock slab beyond Log Rock. This can be slick in spots when dry and well, extra slick everywhere when wet. Avoid this when ice or snow are present unless you have proper gear.
CAUTION - Poisonous Snakes. Copperheads and timber rattlesnakes can be found in the area. Should you encounter one, stop and slowly back away. Always give venomous snakes a wide berth. Know Before You Go => University of Kentucky Venomous Snake Guide
CAUTION - Black Bears. Ursus Americanus - a.k.a. the American black bear is growing in population throughout much of Kentucky. Know Before You Go => US Forest Service Black Bear Safety Tips
