Parking. Ample parking is available in the day use lot near the boat launch and pool at the bottom of Lodge Road.

Trail navigation. Locate the trailhead at the northeast section of the loop at the end of Lodge Road. Take the paved path and then turn left to proceed down the cement staircase to reach Smoky Bridge. Note there is a mini-cave up and to the left as you approach the bridge - a play place for kids. Further down, you’ll see some water coming out of Smoky Bridge ‘Falls’ and high up above, there is an arch at the top of the bridge accessed via user trails from the staircase. This has been bricked up for safety, but you can peek through to see the interior of the arch or walk beyond the bridge from below and climb to see it from a distance on the other side. When you’re ready, retrace your steps uphill to return to the trailhead.

CAUTION - Poisonous Snakes. Copperheads and timber rattlesnakes can be found in the area. Should you encounter one, stop and slowly back away. Always give venemous snakes a wide berth. Know Before You Go => University of Kentucky Venemous Snake Guide

CAUTION - Black Bears. Ursus Americanus - a.k.a. the American black bear is growing in population throughout much of Kentucky. Know Before You Go => US Forest Service Black Bear Safety Tips
