Combs Overlook, Pine Mountain

Overview. This roadside overlook provides gorgeous views of Pine Mountain above and the town of Jenkins below. It’s a nice, quick stop when traveling US-23 and has a small picnic shelter to enjoy a meal without having to walk more than a couple dozen paces.

Parking. Plenty of parking is available on the northbound side of US-23. If coming from the southbound lanes, turnaround at the Valero station on the Virginia side of the mountain. Do NOT attempt a U-turn, as this is a busy 4-lane with a lot of truck traffic.

HIKER NOTE - Raven Rock. I’ll have to research where exactly this rock is on my next visit, but I believe it might be the line of rock I spotted from this overlook.
