Overview. This short walk yields a pair of overlooks that are rarely, if ever, crowded. The views are outstanding looking southwest to northeast over the knobs of Eastern Kentucky with 12 Mile Overlook providing the best of the two views.

Parking. Very limited parking (1 or 2 vehicles) is available at the unmarked trailhead denoted by several large rocks along the roadside. There are no services here.

Trail Navigation. Locate the property boundary sign and walk the doubletrack trail until connecting with Pine Mountain State Scenic Trail marked with yellow reflective blazes. Move southwest at the fork to reach the overlooks. At 12 Mile Overlook, turnaround and retrace your steps - making sure to turn right at the fork to return to your vehicle.

CAUTION - Deadly Drops. Long falls from high places are the #1 non-health related cause of death for hikers in Kentucky. Keep your distance from the edges of cliffs to avoid a deadly fall. Young children should be kept close.

CAUTION - Poisonous Snakes. Copperheads and timber rattlesnakes can be found in the area. Should you encounter one, stop and slowly back away. Always give venomous snakes a wide berth. Know Before You Go => University of Kentucky Venomous Snake Guide
