Parking. Limited parking is available at the trailhead with one port-o-let that stinks to high heaven. Hit the bathroom before arriving at the trailhead. The lot fills on nice weekends - especially over summertime when Jump Rock is packed. Use the Corner Ridge Road Trailhead and hike southbound during these peak periods or arrange a shuttle with Leave No Trace Adventures.

Trail Navigation. Navigating the standard route is easy - follow the white diamond and turtle blazes to stay on trail. There is an easy spot to lose the trail near Adena Arch/Overlook. Going straight takes you off trail to Adena Arch/Overlook. Making the sharp turn will keep you on the standard route. Follow the most well trod path and avoid taking side trails - a few of which are highly trafficked and lead to some iconic spots in RRG.

Water Sources. You can filter water at Red River, Klaber Branch, Gladie Creek, or Salt Fork. If continuing northbound, top off at Salt Fork before heading uphill to Corner Ridge. If continuing southbound, top off at Chimney Top Creek before continuing up toward Tunnel Ridge.

CAUTION - Eroded Stream Crossing. The trail has significant erosion at stream crossings feeding Gladie Creek. Use caution on these sections.

CAUTION - Deadly Drops. Long falls from high places are the #1 non-health related cause of death for hikers in Kentucky. Keep your distance from the edges of cliffs to avoid a deadly fall. Young children should be kept close.

CAUTION - Poisonous Snakes. Copperheads and timber rattlesnakes can be found in the area. Should you encounter one, stop and slowly back away. Always give venomous snakes a wide berth. Know Before You Go => University of Kentucky Venomous Snake Guide

CAUTION - Black Bears. Ursus Americanus - a.k.a. the American black bear is growing in population throughout much of Kentucky. Know Before You Go => US Forest Service Black Bear Safety Tips
