Overview. This is a great hike to pair with Smoky Bridge or to add to the Three Bridges Trail. Though this arch is much smaller than the natural bridges in the park, its intricate rock structure make it more than worthy of a visit - and it has some all natural air conditioning for those hot days.

Parking. Limited parking is available near the bottom of the one-lane road to the boat launch. Additional parking can be found on the loop at the bottom of Lodge Road.

Trail navigation. Locate the trailhead on the west side of the parking area and follow the trail to the first fork. Turn right to reach the arch. Take care moving into the arch, as there is a break in the rock and potential for a fall - use all fours for safety. Enjoy your time at this arch and retrace your steps to the trailhead.

HIKER NOTE - Shangra La Falls. In the drainage below the arch, a cascading waterfall runs after wet weather. It’s easiest to access this by taking the first fork to the left, then walking up the drainage to the falls.

CAUTION - Poisonous Snakes. Copperheads and timber rattlesnakes can be found in the area. Should you encounter one, stop and slowly back away. Always give venemous snakes a wide berth. Know Before You Go => University of Kentucky Venemous Snake Guide

CAUTION - Black Bears. Ursus Americanus - a.k.a. the American black bear is growing in population throughout much of Kentucky. Know Before You Go => US Forest Service Black Bear Safety Tips
