Overview. This is probably the most visited trail at Carter Caves State Resort Park with the trail just to the side of the Visitors Center. It is also the only natural bridge in Kentucky with an active roadway in use above it. Put simply, it’s huge and a must visit.

Parking. There are plenty of parking spaces in front of the visitors center and just across the road in an overflow lot.

Trail navigation. This is a partly paved trail and easily navigated. Pick-up the trail from lookers’ left (west) of the visitors center. Move downhill hugging the west side and continue through the bridge. Wrap uphill and around before reaching the top where the skylight can be viewed from above. Continue downhill until returning across the creek to finish the loop.

CAUTION - Poisonous Snakes. Copperheads and timber rattlesnakes can be found in the area. Should you encounter one, stop and slowly back away. Always give venemous snakes a wide berth. Know Before You Go => University of Kentucky Venemous Snake Guide
