Otter Rocks River Soak

Overview. Otter Rocks Day Use Area is a great spot for a soak and a picnic after a long hike. We stopped here a couple times on our trip to enjoy the cool, clear waters of Hancock Branch while taking in post-hike refreshments.

Parking. Limited parking is available at the paved lot and just east on a gravel pull-off. Amenities include trash bins, pit toilets, and picnic tables. If the lot is full, there are innumerable other places for a soak in the region.

FEE AREA - Self Service. Be sure to pay your user fee or pick-up an annual pass. Fees collected are used locally in White Mountain National Forest and are not part of the U.S. National Forests’ collective budget.

CAUTION - Be Bear Aware. Black bear are plentiful in the region. Know Before You Go => US Forest Service Black Bear Safety Tips

CAUTION - Moose. Be aware and never approach moose. Leave a wide berth and turn back if needed.
